Lovely Christmas gel manicure

Dark red with sparkles. Perfect for Christmas! It looks so good with her skin tone too.

Full gel extension set

She picked a beautiful winter white with sparkles to make it look like it’s snowing on her nails. So pretty!

How am I safe? What Services do I offer?

I do nail services for people with diabetes, cancer, arthritis, weak immunity, or any other noncontagious health condition. Because of this my services are little different from regular services.

I have each client fill out a health questionnaire before the service starts so that I am aware of any serious health conditions. I sign a confidentiality agreement saying that I will not discuss the client's health with anyone other than the client.

I don't cut cuticles. This is a safe practice on a healthy nail but cutting the cuticle of a client with weak immunity can leave the nail more vulnerable to infection. Instead I soften the cuticle and push it back.

I don't cut nails with clippers. Instead I file the nails to the desired length because it is easier to see where the bleeding point is when filing as opposed to cutting and certain health conditions make bleeding more likely.

I don't soak the feet in warm water during a pedicure. Bacteria breeds in warm water. A healthy client can fight off the bacteria found in warm water easily but this posses a threat to someone with weak immunity. Water soaks also dry out the skin. Instead I warm up lotion and massage it into the skin.

I clean the skin with rubbing alcohol before and after each service to prevent infections.

I disinfect all surfaces including the table, chairs, my apron, and large tools with a hospital grade disinfectant after each service.

I only use disposable tools and I throw them away in front of the client after 1 use.

Cuticle Cutting can be dangerous

Did you know?

If you have diabetes or a weak immune system getting your cuticles cut can make your fingers more vulnerable to infection. Have your nail technician push the cuticles back instead.
