Why do you charge more for your services than other salons?

I have taken an advanced nail care class outside of beauty school that taught me how to give safe services to those with chronic illness. I employ the highest level of infection control possible in a salon. I guarantee you will not get an infection from my services and your conditions will not be made worse. You do not have this guarantee from most other salons.

What are your infection control procedures?

I use only disposable tools and I dispose of them after one use in view of the client. I disinfect all surfaces with Lysol disinfectant after each service including the tables, chairs, foot rest, and my apron. I wear disposable gloves for each service and I never reuse them. I clean the skin with 70% alcohol before each service, this includes extra cleaning between the fingers and toes. I don't soak the feet in hot water during pedicures because water can harbor bacteria. Instead I soak the feet in a wax bag full of warm lotion and dispose of the bag afterward.

What techniques do you use on the chronically ill to prevent making their condition(s) worse?

I don't cut cuticles since this can leave the nail more vulnerable to infections even if it is not cut deep enough to bleed. Instead the cuticle is gently pushed back with an orangewood stick.

I don't cut nails either. The bleeding point is different for each person and some bleed more easily. Instead of risking cutting too close to the bleeding point I file the nails to the desired length.

I don't give deep massages unless the client requests it and is healthy enough for it. Instead I give gentle massages to most clients. For clients with swelling or serious conditions I offer feather massages that are even gentler then my regular massages.

Do you have special services for seniors?

Yes. Anyone 55 or older gets $5 off all services. I also offer in-home services to those who are unable to travel. For more information please see the top post in the Home page.

Do you have special services for other people?

Yes. All new clients get $5 off their first 3 services (seniors already get this discount). During the service I offer free jewelry cleaning  for rings and bracelets. I also offer 2 free nail art stickers with each service (while supplies last). Please subscribe to be notified when new nail art stickers are available.

Do you offer gel manicures?

Yes. All the colors available in regular polish are available in gel polish. Gel manicures are $35.

Do you offer acrylic nail extensions?

I offer gel nail extensions. I don't use acrylic because the acrylic bonder is a bit harder on the natural nail than the gel bonder and acrylic nails are less flexible than gel and more likely to break when under pressure.
Gel nail extensions look basically the same as acrylic. They add thickness and length to natural nails just like acrylic does.
